The old NeoReader app kept a long list of supported handsets. That list is gone because it isn't needed any more: NeoReader now works on any phone, tablet or computer with a current web browser.

Very old handsets, such as feature phones, Symbian and BlackBerry devices, can't run a modern browser, so they are no longer supported.
What happened to the NeoReader app?
The original NeoReader apps for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and older phones have been retired and are no longer in the app stores. NeoReader now works in any browser instead, so there is nothing to download from a store and nothing to keep updated: it is always the latest version.
It reads everything the old app did and more: QR codes, Data Matrix and Aztec codes, and product barcodes such as EAN and UPC. It can read several codes in one picture, and it checks links for phishing tricks before you open them.
Private by default
Camera video and the images you scan are read in your browser; we don't receive them. There is no account and no scan history unless you choose to keep one in the extension. Read how NeoReader works for the details.
Is NeoReader free?

Yes. Scanning and creating QR codes and barcodes is free, with no account, no watermark and no adverts in your scans.
Is there still a NeoReader app in the App Store or Google Play?

No. The old apps were retired. NeoReader now runs in your browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
How do I install NeoReader on my phone?

On Android, open this page in Chrome and tap “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen”.
Does NeoReader work without internet?

After you have scanned once, the scanner keeps working when your connection drops, because its engine is saved on your device. Opening a scanned link still needs the internet.
Can NeoReader read barcodes as well as QR codes?

Yes: EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, ITF, Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec, as well as QR codes.
